The 48th Annual Day celebrations of MES Indian School, ‘Mesmerise-2022’, was held in a spectacular manner at the Main Grass Field of the school. The venue of the event was thematically designed after the Al Bayt Stadium, which will be hosting the inaugural match of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

A galaxy of distinguished personalities, besides hundreds of spectators, witnessed the two-day cultural extravaganza, which highlighted the dazzling performances of the enthusiastic students who showcased exquisite artistic talents in their youthful exuberance.

Dr Eng. Abdulla Mohsin Al Wahedi, Director Shared Service, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), was the chief guest, while Azmy Ameer, President and Trustee, Oryx Universal College; and BM Sidhique, President, IES Education City; were the guests of honour on the first day of the event. Abdulla Mohamed Al-Baker, Vice President, Administration of the Lean Construction Institute, was the chief guest, while Rasha El Karout, Special Advisor on Human Rights for the State of Qatar, was the guest of honour on the second day of the event.

The spectacular event commenced with a video presentation featuring athletic team of the school portraying and representing the involvement of MES in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The video depicted the athletes of the school carrying the football trophy ceremoniously to all the eight FIFA World Cup stadiums and as the culmination of their journey, they handed over the trophy to the chief guest of the function in real-time.

Dr Abdulla Mohsin Al Wahedi said, "Schools are essential pillars of life, and they prepare students for their future endeavours, and make them capable of responding adequately to the challenges that the world faces. What you are experiencing at MES is the tradition of excellence which will lead you to your destiny.”

Azmy Ameer, besides congratulating the institution for spearheading in the field of education, also made an announcement much to the delight of students and parents that a partial scholarship will be provided for the five best aspiring candidates of MES, enabling them to pursue their higher education at Liverpool John Moores University, Qatar.

K Abdul Karim, president of M.E.S Governing Board, in his felicitation remarked that the school is committed to achieving its learning objectives and goals through empathy and respect.

On the second day of the event, Abdulla Mohamed Al-Baker said, "MES is acclaimed for producing topnotch students who are specialized and exceptional in various fields of study.”

Principal Hameeda Kadar presented the annual report, which highlighted the landmark achievements of students in the curricular and co-curricular domains during the academic year 2020-21.

The school toppers and meritorious students of Classes X & XII CBSE examinations 2021 & 22 received awards, gold medals and mementos from the dignitaries on the occasion. The school honoured its members of staff, who put in 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10 years of commendable service in the institution.

Dr Najeeb KP, Senior Vice President; Khaleel AP, Vice President; Hazmal Ismail, General Secretary; Ahamed Isham, Dy General Secretary; MC Muhamed, Director, Cultural & Co-Curricular Activities; Kashif Jaleel, Director, Academics; and other members from the school Governing Board, special invitees, school officials and parents were among those who attended the celebrations.

Sehla Kabeer, Head Girl of the school, welcomed the gathering while Safa Fathima, Head Girl, Junior Section, and Hanna Ann Reji, Cultural Secretary, Girls’ Section, proposed votes of thanks for the official and cultural segments of the first day of the function, respectively.

For the second day, Abdul Rahman Hazem, Head Boy, welcomed the gathering while John Paul, Head Prefect and Sehla Kabeer, Head Girl, proposed votes of thanks for the official and cultural segments of the function, respectively.

Harshan, Cultural Convener, along with his team of officials Anver K, Sumitha Nassar, Shayeestha Abdullah Sait and Neema Ummukulsu, coordinated the Mesmerise 2022.
