Qatar Fuel (Woqod) will provide free WOQODe tags to all individual customers in Qatar to avoid using cash or bank cards at its fuel stations.
The QR195 worth tag is basically a microchip that will be affixed near the fuel tank opening of a vehicle that enables motorists to speed up payments and track the amount of fuel that goes into their vehicles through their smartphones.
The chip carries details of the vehicle such as its registration number, name and the location of fuel station along with the date, time and other details as desired.
A valid copy of the Qatari ID and Istimarah are required to get the free tags between March 17 and June 17.
"Woqod is keen on the safety and health of everyone in Qatar," a statement tweeted by Woqod said, and added that the decision was taken as per the direction and guidance of the Ministry of Public Health.
Woqod has called on the public to contact its customer service numbers 4021 7777 and 800 3835 for enquiries.
