Qatar Armed Forces inaugurated the first phase of projects of the Central Firefighting Unit, under the patronage of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah and in the presence of HE Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Staff Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit and Commander of the Central Fire Brigade Unit Brigadier General (Engineer/Navy) Ali Mohammed Al Roumi.

The projects included new vehicles, machineries, and firefighting equipment and rescue unit, which will enhance the capabilities of firefighting and is viewed as a qualitative addition in this field.

Since its establishment, the Central Firefighting Unit has been striving to make every effort to develop its work in implementation of the instructions of the of the Armed Forces General Command in order to provide the requirements of security, safety, firefighting and rescue at the highest international standards for the various facilities in general, and the facilities of the armed forces in particular.

The inauguration was attended by a number of senior commanders and officers of the armed forces.
