Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), through its affiliated channels and radio stations, has prepared many programmes for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, characterised by their huge and diverse productions that suit the nature of the great event.
These programmes take their followers on a sport, cognitive and entertainment tour that directly touches the aspirations of Qatar citizens, residents and visitors, and attracts followers from outside Qatar with valuable and meaningful media material.
During the press conference held on Wednesday at QMC headquarters, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al-Thani, QMC chairman, said that work is continuing to meet the aspirations of viewers in all programming schemes, pointing out that the World Cup is considered the most important season due to its great turnout among viewers and being hosted in an Arab country for the first time.
He pointed out that QMC has provided all the requirements for its affiliated channels and broadcasters to provide a meaningful and distinctive programme outline, which does not lack the elements of mass attraction.
The QMC chairman said: “For 12 years, Qatar has been working in all fields for this moment, and Qatar has taken it upon itself to be for all Arabs, and the Qatar Media Corporation has also taken it upon itself to be part of this movement and enthusiasm for the big event.”
“We are here today to complete the QMC’s journey to build bridges of communication, present the identity of our Qatar and spread peace, love and the message of coexistence,” he said. “Based on this approach, we have prepared ourselves for this event by covering all kinds of news through a Qatari, Arab and international identity.”
“We announce our special programming session for the World Cup and also announce the launch of the newly born radio, the Spanish-speaking ‘Hola Qatar’, from the heart of Doha,” he announced.
Mabrouk Ziani, director of ‘Hola Qatar’, said that the new radio is launched from Qatar in Spanish and the word ‘Hola’ means ‘Hello’ in English, which is a welcoming message to the world from Doha in Spanish after English, French, Urdu and other languages. He said the radio will focus on promoting Qatar and its national identity as well as Arab cultures.
The radio will be a distinctive platform for Qatar in Spanish to enjoy Arab cultures and promote them internationally and a bridge between the Spanish and Arab cultures, he said.
The media conference received participants from different media stations and press institutions, who spoke about their preparations for the media coverage of the greatest sporting event ever, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
