Expect rain in Qatar from Wednesday to Friday: Met

Tribune News NetworkDohaThe Qatar Meteorology Department has predicted scattered rain with varying intensities from Wednesday evening until Friday as cloud cover is expected to increase gradually over the period.A state of atmospheric instability is expected to affect Qatar on Saturday and Sunday due to the extension of a low pressure system over the region, the Met office said."Weather will becomes partly cloudy to cloudy, with conditions favouring rain of varying intensity. Rain might be accompanied by thunder and strong wind with hail showers in some areas," the weather report said."The prevailing wind during this period is southeasterly to easterly fresh to strong ranging in speed between 12 to 22 KT gusting to 30 KT at times (especially during thunderstorms) causing blowing dust in open areas and a gradual rise in temperature. Marine warnings will be in effect from Friday night as wave height expected to exceed 10 FT during thunderstorms. Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be cautious, avoid marine activities and to follow latest updates through it's official social media accounts as this period of time is known usually for fast weather changes."
