The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy on Thursday announced that all the organisational arrangements for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has been completed as planned.
Dr Yousuf Al Maslamani, Official Healthcare Spokesperson for Qatar 2022, said that the country has allocated four Hamad Medical Corporation hospitals for emergency medical assistance of World Cup fans. Health services are provided free of charge to Hayya Card holders when needed, he added.
"Qatar 2022 will be the most health conscious and safe tournament ever,” Dr Maslamani said.
"Safe health policy has been a cornerstone for us and in the last 10 years healthcare in Qatar has made huge progress. We aim to provide easy access to quality healthcare. There will be more than 100 clinics in stadiums and fan zones for safety and good health of all attending the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,”Dr Maslamani added.
"We earlier also made a Safe and Secure World Cup three-year agreement with World Health Organization (WHO). Qatar 2022 will be the most health conscious and safe tournament ever.”
He said a health website for fans has been launched. "We encourage fans to visit our dedicated website for the latest information. We also urge all international fans to take out travel insurance before arriving in Qatar.” The healthcare helpline for fans in Qatar is: 16000.
Fans are no longer required to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test on arrival in Qatar. Fans are also no longer required to download the Eheteraz application. Emergency healthcare will be provided for free to Hayya Card holders at public health facilities.
