Al Jeryan Stud’s AJS Jamran in his just 2nd career start and following a runner-up finish last time, galloped to Al Gharafa Cup triumph by winning the feature 1500m contest for 3YO Purebred Arabians in Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club’s (QREC) 8th Race Meeting at the Al Rayyan Racecourse on Thursday. The MHK Al Attiyah-trained 3YO colt was guided by jockey Alberto Sanna. QREC’s Racing Manager Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi presented the trophies to the winners. Earlier, Sharida bin Nasser bin Sharida Al Kaabi’s Shgarde completed a double, adding a sixth win to his record. The Mohamed Khaled Elahmed-trained 4YO colt prevailed in a 1500m Handicap for 4YO Purebred Arabians. Shgarde was ridden by Alberto Sanna who completed an impressive treble on the day. (TNN)
