The Ministry of Interior on Monday announced that people who have entered Qatar on on-arrival, tourist and visit visas can stay in the country until the flight restrictions imposed on account of the COVID-19 pandemic are lifted.
They can stay without extending their visas or paying any fee, the ministry said in a tweet.
The ministry said the decision was taken on account of the travellers' inability to return to their home countries due to the flight restrictions and closure of airports in most of the countries around the world, the ministry said.
"Once situation returns to normal and Qatar starts operating flights to the countries of these travelers, a grace period will be given for them to leave the country."
