Qatar University (QU) has announced that early registration of courses for the Spring 2023 semester will begin on Sunday, November 6, 2022, while classes will start on January 29, 2023.

The Add and Drop period will end on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Early registration will open for graduate Students and the Honors Program students on November 6.

Students who have earned 90 credit hours or more, registration will begin on November 7. Those who have earned 75 or more credit hours can register from November 8 onwards, those with 60 or more earned credit hours can register from November 9, for those with 45 or more earned credit hours can start registering from November 10, and students with 30 or more credit hours can register for courses starting from November 13.

Registration will be available for all students on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Director of Enrolment Management Department Noora Al Marri urged students to keep track of emails from the university and to pay special attention to the guidelines and instructions related to registration of courses, such as restrictions or hold that may prevent them from registration, and meeting the Academic Advisor before registering.

She also urged students to consult the guide to use the myBanner self-service system to learn how to add and drop courses. Marri added that students must pay their tuition fees or any financial penalties (if any) to be allowed to register for courses. This can be paid electronically via the e-payment website, without the need for the student to visit the finance office on campus.

Wedad Rabeeh, director of the Center for Academic Advising, highlighted that all academic advisors are ready to provide support and advice to students, and shall receive appointment reservations remotely through the online Appointment Management system for Academic Advising, which facilitates the booking for their advisor.(TNN)

She said that in the absence of available appointment slots for the advisor, students can communicate with their academic advisors by sending their inquiries via email and will be receiving a response within a maximum of two working days.

She added that students can take part in the guidance session through the remote communication programmes provided by QU such as Teams and WebEx, to discuss their study plans beforehand and select relevant courses to register for Spring 2023 semester.

Rabeeh emphasised that Qatar University is willing and eager to reduce all obstacles for its students in order to foster their academic and personal success.

She expressed her hope that all students receive the necessary academic guidance during the early registration period and that the academic advisors help in solving any issues they may face, with cooperation and communication with the colleges and concerned departments within the Student Affairs Sector.
