India’s Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday announced that Deepak Mittal has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Qatar.
Mittal, presently joint secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, is expected to take up his assignment shortly.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE P Kumaran said, “I am happy that the Ministry of External Affairs has announced today that my dear friend and colleague Dr. Deepak Mittal will be succeeding me as the next Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar. I look forward to handing the baton over to him in a few weeks. I am sure he will take the bilateral relationship and the profile of the Indian community in Qatar to greater heights in the coming years.”
