Santosh ChandranDohaWith the lifting of lockdown, life and business in Industrial Area are slowing inching back to some form of normality. People can be seen on the streets that had worn a deserted look a few days ago. Currency exchange centres have resumed operations and hypermarkets are open at some sections of Industrial Area. Industrial Area streets from 1 to 32 were under lockdown for more than a month ever since a large number of people there tested positive for COVID-19. The phased lifting of the lockdown began a few weeks ago, with the first phase seeing the reopening of Streets 1, 2 and Al Wakalat on April 22.The remaining streets were reopened on May 6, but entry and exit tightly regulated as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.
