National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) announced Saturday that it is launching four virtual exhibitions for people to enjoy online.
The four exhibitions are NMoQ Creates Together, Habitats and Shelter, Qatar's Culinary Journey, and Mal Lawal.
NMoQ Creates Together attempts to encourage the community to visually represent the COVID-19 pandemic. The museum is encouraging members of the community to draw, color, paint, sculpt, photograph, or film their experience and send it.
Habitats and Shelter is inspired by the "Qatar Natural Environments" and "Life in Al Barr (desert)" and seeks to explore how living beings and creatures take shelter in times of uncertainty with the goal of survival.
Qatar's Culinary Journey will explore Qatar's Culinary Journey. The exhibition seeks to highlight traditional and personal interpretations on Qatari food and drink and the micro-story each recipe represents. The museum is encouraging members of the community to share 2-3 photographs while preparing the dish or drink, 1 photograph showcasing the final result, a recipe card.
Mal Lawal seeks to provide a platform for collectors living in Qatar to share their personal collections with the public. The museum encouraged members of the community to share 1-3 photographs of their personal collections and a 100 word text describing what they shared.
