Doha Academy Schools celebrated ‘World Cup Cultural Days’ to introduce students to the cultures of the countries participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as part of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s (MoEHE) support for the country’s efforts in hosting the global sporting event.

Students had opportunity to participate in many different activities in the classrooms ranging from bringing in food from a country, football matches, learning basic words from the chosen country, research tasks and presentations.

During the event, the students learned about the civilisations, arts, heritage, as well as historically and culturally important people of the countries participating in the tournament.

Students also had the opportunity to dress in the sporting attire and colours of the countries they represented, reflecting the spirit of this momentous event.

Edward Cooper, principal of Doha Academy Schools, said: "This was a great educational opportunity for our students, providing them with the opportunity to combine their creative, research, leadership and presentation skills. It was personally hugely enjoyable to experience their work, originating from this great idea and filled me with pride to see what the students could achieve.”
