Qatar’s Ministry of Defence organised the Desert Camp to welcome allied forces participating in securing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah. The event introduced allied forces to Qatar’s customs and traditions through various activities, including the Ardah performance, Qatar’s traditional sword dance. The event was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces HE Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Major-General (Pilot) Mohammed Abdullatif Al Mannai and Chairperson of the Ministry of Defence’s executive committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and Major-General Saeed Husayn Al Khayarin, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and a number of ambassadors and military attachés to the country, along with senior Qatari officers.
