The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan to Qatar HE Zaid Mufleh Al Lozi has affirmed that Jordan will spare no effort in supporting Qatar to host a remarkable FIFA World Cup.
“Jordan is providing all support to Qatar in many fields such as helping secure the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Jordan will spare no effort to support Qatar, and is ready to continue doing so,” the Jordanian envoy told Qatar Tribune.
“Qatar is opening its doors to everyone, let’s all enjoy and celebrate this exceptional event,” he added.
The Jordanian envoy said Qatar’s preparations are going on in full swing to host the biggest sporting event, the World Cup.
The Jordanian ambassador said, “Jordan and Qatar enjoy excellent brotherly relations. Jordan has expressed on many occasions its readiness to support Qatar in every possible way for this event.”
Regarding Jordan’s opportunity to promote its tourism during the World Cup, the ambassador stated, “This event constitutes an opportunity for many countries to promote their tourism, as it will gather people from all over the world.”
The envoy said, “Jordan will be benefiting from this opportunity as well by promoting its tourism to attract football fans to visit Jordan. For example, the Jordanian government recently decided to grant FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 ticket holders of any nationality multiple-entry visas to Jordan.”
“Jordan also started launching a campaign in Qatar to promote its tourism. The campaign will involve intensifying advertisements in malls, public transportation, and the airport,” he stressed.
When asked about the difference between this edition of the World Cup and the earlier ones, the Jordanian ambassador said, “It will be the first World Cup that will be hosted in an Arab, Muslim country. We are all very proud of Qatar, and we are certain that this World Cup will be one of the best editions of the World Cup and an exceptional one too”.
Regarding labour reforms that Qatar has recently implemented, the ambassador said, “Qatar seized the opportunity of hosting the World Cup to work on improving its legislations in the field of human rights. Qatar has adopted several legislative measures in relation to the protection and strengthening of human rights.”
“Qatar has completed several national legislations to protect the rights of workers based on the international conventions and standards adopted by the International Labor Organization,” he added.
“Legislations to guarantee human rights and the basic rights to work for all workers, including those participating in establishing the sporting infrastructure were all adopted,” the envoy emphasized.
“These efforts and reforms in the labour field that were done by Qatar were also welcomed by some prominent human rights groups and UN agencies,” the ambassador continued.
“I am certain that Qatar will continue its efforts for the promotion and protection of human rights,” the ambassador confirmed.
The Jordanian ambassador advised all Jordanians and fans around the world to come and enjoy this beautiful, diverse and welcoming country, “but like any other country, it is important to respect the traditions and culture of the country you visit”.
“I want all fans visiting Qatar to enjoy their time while respecting the law and the culture and beliefs of the Qatari people. This big event will bring people from all over the world, people of different cultures that share their passion to football,” he added.
