His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent on Sunday a cable of congratulations to Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah for having successfully undergone a surgery. HH the Amir wished Sabah good health and well-being.
His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani also sent cables of congratulations to Sabah.
According to Kuwait's state news agency KUNA, the 91-year-old Sabah was admitted to hospital on Saturday.
Minister of Royal Court Affairs Ali Al Jarah said in a brief statement that Amir Sabah “entered the hospital to undergo some medical check-ups”.
Amir Sabah has been ruling Kuwait since 2006. Last year, he was transferred to hospital in the United States during a trip there.
