In a bid to save motorists from the ordeal of long queues at fuel stations, Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has installed two mobile fuel stations in high-density areas of Doha.
While one mobile fuel station has been installed near Jaidah flyover in Rawdat Al Khail, the other has been set up in Al Saad area.
According to a Woqod official, both the mobile fuel stations are expected to be operational by the end of this week.
An official at the Jaidah flyover mobile fuel station said work on approach roads leading to the fuel station is over and it will open for motorists within two to three days. The official said the four fuel booths installed as part of a temporary arrangement will provide both super and premium petrol. There will be no provision for diesel at the mobile fuel stations, the official added.
The official also revealed that these mobile fuel stations will deal only in cash as the system to accept Woqodi prepaid cards are not installed at the booths.
These mobile fuel stations are equipped to fill tanks of eight vehicles at a time.
Set up with a timeframe of one year, the official said, the temporary petrol stations might be converted into full-fledged Woqod fuel stations in course of time. With the installation of these two new mobile fuel stations, the official said, the total number of such stations in Qatar has reached nine.
