French Ambassador to Qatar HE Eric Chevallier handed over the FrancEducation Label to Charlemagne International School. Created in 2012, the FrancEducation Label is granted to schools established abroad whose national programmes devote a significant and reinforced part to the teaching of French language and culture. This label is awarded at the request of the schools from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.
Charlemagne school has thus joined the 158-institution network teaching bilingual Francophone curricula on five continents. Founded in 2013, Charlemagne International School provides French-speaking education to some 500 students of 23 nationalities.
Chevallier welcomed the award which helps establish Francophonie in Qatar. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Charlemagne School Board Honorary Chairwoman Sheikha al Anoud bint Khalifa bin Hamad al Thani and was chaired by the school Director General Mohamed Chaar, in the presence of the Tunisian Ambassador to Qatar Slah Salhi, and representatives of the ambassadors of Algeria and Saudi Arabia.
