The Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Tuesday led Qatar's delegation to the 37th session of the GCC Supreme Council, taking place in Manama, Bahrain.
On arrival at Sakhir Airbase Airport, HH the Emir and his accompanying delegation were received by King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa.
Bahrain's Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa and Bahrain's Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad al Khalifa, and chairmen of the Shura and Representatives' Councils were also present during the reception.
A number of ministers as well as GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al Zayani, Qatar's Ambassador to Bahrain HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Saud al Thani, members of the embassy and a number of senior civil and military officials also attended the reception.
A mission of honour was formed to accompany HH the Emir under the presidency of Bahraini Minister of Finance Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Khalifa.
HH the Emir extended his and the Qatari people's greetings to King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa and the Bahraini people.
"I am also pleased to greet my brothers leaders of the GCC who participate in this session that takes place in light of serious regional and international circumstances, hoping that its outcomes will help in supporting the move of our council, achieving its desired goals and consolidating our region's security and stability," HH the Emir said, praying for the good of the Arab and Muslim peoples.
An official delegation including HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani, personal representative of HH the Emir, and a number of ministers accompanied HH the Emir to the summit.
