The Katara Traditional Dhow Festival 2022 witnessed an array of competitions related to Qatari and Gulf maritime heritage, such as the drag race, attracting a large number of visitors on Friday.

The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) presents many diverse artistic and other performances every day as part of its activities accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. These include military performances on the waterfront and folklore performances such as the Palestinian Dabkeh Band on Katara Beach.

Katara has been hosting 51 main events and 300 secondary activities in cooperation with 22 embassies accredited to the country with the aim of building bridges of communication between cultures and peoples and spreading an atmosphere of joy based on a mixture of culture, art, heritage and sports.

The open theatre hosted two concerts on Thursday and Friday, starring Lebanese singer Elissa and Moroccan artiste Saad Lamjarred, attended by a large audience from various segments of society.

Al-Mathaq Street in Katara also attracts World Cup fans and shops are open from 3pm until after midnight offering a variety of food that reflect different cultures.
