With the camping season in full swing, Ooredoo has urged everyone who travels to or camps at the Inland Sea to download its recently updated desert navigation app.
The 'Ooredoo Inland Sea' application, which is the first ever Qatar desert navigation app, is designed to help people easily navigate through the desert dunes to safe spots and tourist attractions.
With the new updates, users now have the ability to get directions to landmarks on the map using Google Maps.
To ensure families stay safe, the Ooredoo Inland Sea app also has a direct contact button to several emergency service numbers, aimed to provide aid for drivers lost and stuck in the desert.
Fatima Sultan al Kuwari, director of Community and Public Relations at Ooredoo, said:"Thanks to the cooler weather, lots of people are heading to the desert and we want to remind and urge Qatar's adventurers to download the Inland Sea App. Staying safe should be everyone's priority and the app offers helpful tips, as well as navigation to safe spots and emergency numbers if anything goes wrong."
The application provides users with information such as geography and terrain, camping sites and efficient satellite navigation through the desert using Ooredoo's Supernet.
For desert visitors wishing to document their trip online, the app also highlights Ooredoo's Supernet signal towers, so that they can stay connected.
The app can be downloaded from itunes and Google play store.
