SILATECH on Tuesday signed partnership agreements with different organisations aimed at creating over 600,000 jobs in Tunisia.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Silatech Founder and Chairperson Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser who also chaired the meeting of Silatech's new Board of Trustees.
Silatech signed an agreement with Tunisia-based micro finance institution Enda Tamweel, aiming to create 580,000 jobs across Tunisia via providing financial support to young entrepreneurs to start and grow their own businesses.
Enda Tamweel is one of the most successful micro finance institutions in Tunisia. The agreement was one of the four agreements signed by Silatech with different organisations on Tuesday.
Silatech also signed an agreement with the Smart Tunisia Program, a programme of the Ministry of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy of Tunisia, which is expected to provide 50,000 additional jobs to unemployed Tunisian youths by 2020. Silatech will provide technical support to the programme through its employment platform 'Tunis Taamal' and collaborate with partners to train them.
The other two agreements were signed with Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and The World Congress for Muslim Philanthropists to activate the NARWI platform. The NARWI platform is the first innovative Micro-Waqf platform launched by Silatech in 2015 to connect Arab youth entrepreneurs with donors, and has raised $7 million in the past few months.
After signing the strategic agreements HH Sheikha Moza said:"These strategic agreements demonstrate our ongoing commitment to our young people to help them achieve their aspirations. We need to tackle the challenge of unemployment through innovative and effective solutions."
"The engagement of a diverse Board of Trustees will enable Silatech to promote its support for young people in the Arab world, unlock their potentials and engage them in the development of their communities," Sheikha Moza added.
