HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Education Above All Foundation and United Nations Advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), attended on Saturday the closing event for the Education Above All’s SDG Pavilion activities, which have been taking place on the sidelines of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at the Fan Fest at Al Bidda Park.
To mark the occasion, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser spoke about the importance of working together to achieve the goals, stating: “Unlike the Teams in this World Cup, the SDGs do not compete, and every one of them must be achieved. If every action we take - from refilling a water bottle to building a school - is made with thought and purpose, then our planet has a future. Let us strive for that future.” Her Highness went on to thank all those who contributed to the success of the pavilion including the late architect Zaha Hadid and the EAAs team.
Her Highness also participated in the “Walk to Zero” walkathon that took place to raise awareness of achieving three key ambitious goals that are part of the effort to achieve the SDGs - Zero Hunger, Zero out of school children (OOSC), and the zero-dose immunization.
Her Highness was joined by HE Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nation Amina Mohammed, HE Former President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, HE the First Lady of Rwanda Jeannette Kagame, HE the First Lady of Albania Armanda Ymeri, and several of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers.
