Doha

Qatar Charity (QC) orphans worldwide celebrated Qatar National Day, by organising several cultural activities, entertainment, and sports events.

Celebratory events took place in 11 countries including, Somalia, Niger, Pakistan, Tunisia, Ghana, Sudan, Jordan, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia, and Djibouti.

These celebrations were held in the presence of ambassadors of Qatar, diplomats, members of these embassies, and representatives of civil society organisations. The participating orphans and their families expressed their congratulations to the State of Qatar on its National Day, wishing it continued prosperity.

Sudan

Through QC’s office in Sudan, 500 orphans and their families participated in activities that included scout performances, competitive events, and other activities. His Excellency Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sada, Ambassador of Qatar to Sudan, received the orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity at the Nile International Club and followed with them the Qatar World Cup final between Argentina and France.

QC has participated along with many Qatari institutions in Sudan by holding distinguished exhibitions during the celebration of the National Day held by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Khartoum, where QC pavilion displayed a documentary film and many models of Qatar Charity projects and activities during more than a quarter of a century of humanitarian giving in Sudan. Qatar Charity sponsors 13,000 orphans thee.

Somalia

QC office in Somalia celebrated the Qatari National Day in the presence of the sponsored children who expressed their happiness to participate in this celebration. During the ceremony, competitions and entertainment activities were held, as the number of orphans exceeded those sponsored by QC which is 19,000.

Pakistan

In Pakistan, QC office celebrated the National Day in Islamabad with orphans, where His Excellency Nayef Muhammad Al-Hajri, Third Secretary at the Qatari Embassy in Pakistan, attended the event as the main guest. Parents and civil society activists accompanied the celebration.

On this occasion, a video narrating the history of Qatar was shown, and a drawing competition was held in which children drew the flag of Qatar. His Excellency Nayef Mohammed Al-Hajri distributed gifts among the children.

Kosovo

In Kosovo, QC celebrated National Day, where 50 orphans and their parents participated. The event included entertainment and cultural activities for children, where the Qatari and Kosovar anthems were sung. A brief lecture on the State of Qatar and its role in charitable work in Kosovo and the world was also delivered. At the end of the ceremony, gifts were distributed among the orphans.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

QC office in Bosnia and Herzegovina organised a celebration of the National Day of the State of Qatar. The celebration was attended by 150 people, including female students residing in the female students’ residence of Qatar Charity. The concert programme won the approval of the children and families present, and among the participating children were the new sponsors of Qatar Charity.
