BBC readers have overwhelmingly voted Qatar 2022 as the best FIFA World Cup of this century.
On December 24, 2022, BBC asked its readers to rate the six World Cups — Japan/South Korea 2002, Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 — so far in this century.
When the poll closed, Qatar emerged the topper, with 78 percent voting in favour of the Arab world's first-ever World Cup.
In distancesecond is the 2002 edition held in Japan and South Korea, with 6 percent voting for it. It is followed by Brazil 2014 by 5 percent, Germany 2006 at 4 percent, RUssia 2018 by 4 percent and South Africa 2010 by 3 percent.
