MS Bukhari, a leading Indian businessman and a well-known community member, passed away in Doha on Monday.
A native of Bhopal in India, Bukhari had been living in Qatar for more than three decades. He was suffering from heart related disease for quite some time. A bypass surgery was conducted at Heart Hospital recently but he developed some complications. He was put on ventilator but he could not survive.
A large number of well-wishers attended his funeral prayers held at Mesaimeer cemetery on Tuesday.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
He was the managing director of various companies in Qatar namely Satco Group, H Polybit Trading Ltd, Choice Group WLL, H P Industries Ltd and Henkel Polybit Industries Ltd. He was also actively associated with numerous social, welfare and literary organisations in Qatar and India. He was a mentor and guide to several entrepreneurs and business owners. Known for his charismatic personality, Bukhari will be remembered as a philanthropist, industrialist and a motivational speaker.
He was life member of Birla Public School, Qatar, and Ideal Indian School, Qatar.
He was an active supporter of Urdu language and was involved in organizing and conducting Urdu seminars, mushairas in India, Qatar, UK and elsewhere.
He was placed among the top 100 Indian influential entrepreneurs in Middle East, as per Forbes Middle East. He has been featured in ‘25 Global Indians Transforming the World’.
He is also a recipient of various coveted awards. He has been honoured with Bharat Gaurav award, Bharat Shiromani award, Bharat Samman award, NRIs Achievers Excellence award and Urdu Heritage Caravan's Dr K N Katju award for Urdu Promotion.
