The Al-Wakra Municipality, represented by the Health Control Department, conducted 1,179 inspections of food establishments in December 2022 and closed two restaurants for violating the Human Food Control Law 8 of 1990. Besides, 26 seizure reports were issued and 16 food samples were sent to the central laboratory to determine their fitness for human consumption. At the automated slaughterhouse in Al-Wakra, 369 whole carcasses and 6,865 kg of meat were destroyed during the inspections tours. In all, 35 kg of fish found unfit for human consumption, was destroyed at the fish market in Al-Wakra. (TNN)
