President of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) Claudio Tapia has said he was sure, since the first day he set foot on Qatar, that his team would become the world champions at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Tapia was speaking at a press conference at the Government House of San Juan.
It is worth noting that the Argentinian team selected Qatar University campus as their choice of residence during the World Cup 2022.
AFA President, when asked at what point he was sure that the team was going to be the world champions, said, “Since the first day… Since we went to Qatar, to Qatar University, who treated us very well, extremely well. We felt we were going to be world champions.”
The team’s decision to stay at Qatar University was influenced by the presence of three outdoor sports complexes at the university, in addition to an indoor facility for women. These facilities host various sports, including football, volleyball, handball, basketball, tennis, swimming, diving, water polo, squash, and others.
Among the most prominent of these facilities was Qatar University Stadium, which was built in accordance with international and Olympic specifications. It includes a football field, running track and athletics tracks. It can accommodate up to 10,000 spectators and includes rooms and facilities necessary to host big matches.
