Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani visited the headquarters of Qatar Petroleum on Thursday.
The PM met the executive team of Qatar Petroleum (QP) and was briefed by QP President and CEO Saad Sherida al Kaabi on the latest developments in the global energy markets, and on QP's important achievements during the past two years, which includes restructuring and control over expenditure.
Kaabi also presented an overview of a number of decisions and actions taken by QP to strengthen its position in the global energy market and its competitive edge in achieving its vision of becoming one of the best national oil companies in the world.
The most important achievements included the integration of Qatar Petroleum International and Tasweeq into Qatar Petroleum, and the establishment of North Oil Company to develop and operate Al Shaheen field. The decisions also included the integration of the activities of RasGas and Qatargas operating companies under a single entity, named Qatargas, which will operate all of the ventures currently being operated by both entities.
The PM also toured the headquarters of Qatar Petroleum where he was briefed on the various facilities and services, which include meeting and conference rooms, health club and other services.
The PM thanked and appreciated the efforts exerted by Qatar Petroleum and its management to strengthen Qatar's position on the global oil and gas map and also gave directives to enhance these efforts for more sustainable development.
