The Hindi Department of DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) Qatar celebrated ‘World Hindi Day’ on January 10 in all its solemnity and grandeur. The occasion was graced by DPS-MIS Principal Asna Nafees, Vice Principal Senior Secondary School Soma Bhattacharjee, Vice Principal Senior School Mary Cruz, Vice Principal Junior School Shifa Shekh and other key functionaries.
The festivities of the day commenced with a prayer followed by a video montage providing a glimpse of the enriching activities conducted to enhance expression and communication skills of the students.
To commemorate the day, the students presented a colourful cultural extravaganza that included a musical Qawwali, enthralling songs, a scintillating group dance and a skit highlighting the importance of the day. A poem recited by Maairah Rimas Chadkhan, a student of Grade VII, was composed by Suhaila Mohsin, HOD of Hindi Dept.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Asna Nafees pointed out the significance and the popularity of Hindi language all over the globe and inspired the studentsto carry forward its richness and essence.
The event concluded with the students expressing their commitment to preserving the values and ethos of the Indian culture.
