“Many fans were surprised to learn about our rich cultural heritage. Many were eager to learn more about it,” said Al Mohannadi.

“Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup is an opportunity for open dialogue and cultural exchange and it makes us proud to have showcased our local culture with millions from around the world,” added Al Mohannadi.

Members of Viento Norte, an Argentine music band that specialises in combining Latin American and Argentinian cumbia with pop and rock music, enjoyed seeing fans resonate with their music.

“We came all the way from Argentina and to see large crowds form around us here in Qatar was inspiring. Being part of this lifetime event provided great exposure, which is a big advantage for us. We were thrilled to play our music and see fans interact with each other through our music,” said Group leader, Carlos Adrian Seif.

The Cultural Activation Programme recorded the participation of artists from 44 different nationalities during the tournament.

The talented percussionist from Jordan, Nawaf Al Ezza said, “My experience was unique and distinctive, and it contained invaluable moments in the World Cup. Being able to share my talent and passion with the world through this world stage was amazing.”

“One of the many lessons that this tournament has proved is that we are more similar than different and that we are all connected in our humanity. This World Cup enabled people to embrace each other’s’ culture and connect through food, music, art and fashion and make friendships that will last a lifetime,” added Suwaidi.
