Al Mahd International Primary School Doha recently held a graduation ceremony for its Year Six students on the school's premises. A total of 33 students marched in their togas.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation from Quran by Year Six student Adham Akram followed by a speech by Principal Nidal Haidar, who warmly congratulated the graduates on their achievements.
Zeynep Cabbar gave the valedictorian speech. In her speech she said,"We are the ones who are growing up in the technological world, and we will take the technology of today to new dimensions. We are the ones who will bring solutions to environmental concerns global warming, conservation of natural resources, and many other issues. Who knows? Some among us may find the cure for cancer, build schools around the world so every child can go to school, or be the president of their country. There might come a time when some of us will be on a space station circling the Earth. Take risks. Set goals. Continue to care about yourself, your family, your friends and your world. Wherever the next chapters of your life may take you, make sure the journey includes joy."
Abdulla Ashraf gave his salutatorian speech in Arabic. Razan Abu Zaid shared her school reading experience. Nada Afifi, Hannan and Gommana each gave a speech in French.
The ceremony saw proud parents as they watch the graduating class sing their graduation song and receive awards for their academic achievements. It ended with students singing a farewell song.
