The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday temporarily closed the Safari Mall in Abu Hamour for "overcrowding" amid increasing COVID-19 cases in Qatar.
The mall was closed on Wednesday evening. A notice from the ministry stuck on the entrance of the mall cited "overcrowding" as the reason. It did not say how long the mall will stay closed.
In a digital statement, the Safari Mall said, "...It has been advised by the Ministry officials to temporarily halt the service of Safari Mall, Abu Hamour branch, due to overcrowding and keeping in mind the health and safety of the public until further notice."
