THE Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, Bedaya Center and the Youth Hobbies Center jointly hosted an exhibition titled 'Shoot and Show your Profession' in line with Katara's efforts to involve people in initiatives that combine arts with daily life.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of the Deputy General Manager of Katara Ahmad al Sayed, General Manager of the Youth Hobbies Center Mohamed al Hajri and General Manager of Bedaya Center Reem al Suwaidi.
A number of media representatives and photographers also attended the opening of the exhibition.
The exhibition revolves around a photography and videography competition, in which participants were asked to capture a picture or a video that clearly displays their profession.
The exhibition features 45 photographs selected from 400 submissions, all shot by residents of Qatar.
The top three winners of the photography and videography competitions were also announced on the occasion.
In the photography contest, cash awards were presented to Ronald Vinluan who won the first place, followed by Mohamed al Yaf'ie and Aisha al Ansari who bagged second and third prizes respectively.
In the videography competition, Mohamed al Ameen, Fatima Mohamed and Mohamed al Yaf'iewon first, second and third prizes respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy General Manager of Katara Ahmad al Sayed said:"Katara is keen on supporting and encouraging such talents. The quality and diversity of these pictures and videos make us look forward to upcoming editions."
The competition began on October 1 and concluded on December 21, last year. It is noteworthy that the contestants received photography workshops conducted in collaboration with Entube Center.
