Qatar on Monday extended the validity of Hayya Card by a year, enabling non-resident cardholders to enter the country without a separate visa until January 24, 2024.

Hayya Card is a fan ID issued by Qatar to people who have purchased a match ticket for the FIFA World Cup 2022. It served as an entry visa to fans who travelled to the country for the spectacle. The initial validity of the card expired on January 23, 2023.

However, on Monday the Ministry of Interior announced the extension of its validity until January 24, 2024.

The facility is aimed at two target groups of Hayya Card holders —fans and organisers outside the country. To make use of it, they have to meet a few conditions.

They have to secure a hotel reservation or arrange stay with relatives or friends and apply for approval online through the Hayya Portal.

Those who want to enter Qatar must also have a passport valid for at least three months upon their arrival. In addition, they must have a round-trip ticket and health insurance covering the entire duration of their stay.

The ministry noted that Hayya Card holders visiting Qatar will have access to the ‘Hayya with Me’ feature, which allows them to invite up to three family members or friends to Qatar. They are also eligible for multiple-entry and using the e-Gate system for entry and exit. No fees are required to make use of the facility.
