The renowned celebrity chef and culinary expert Pazhayidom Mohanan Namboothiri from Kerala - the southern-most state of India - will be visiting Doha under the patronage of the country’s leading retailer Lulu Hypermarket Group from February 1, 2023, onwards and will be preparing Special Sadhya and other sumptuous traditional delicacies for Lulu’s shoppers, on Friday, February 3, 2023.
It is said that the popular Special Sadhya in banana leaves comprising of 22 dishes including Rice, Sambar, Avial, Thoran, Rasam, Kalan, Olan Kichadi, Pachadi, Erussery, Parippu Curry, Kootu Curry, Palada Payasam, Parippu Pradaman Payasam, Injipuly, Lemon pickle, Kondattam, Sarakara Varatti, Banana Chips salted and Banana, etc. prepared by the Master chef Pazaiyadom will be made available in all Lulu Hypermarket outlets in the region.
Necessary arrangements facilitating shoppers for advance booking of Special Sadhya in-store and online have been made. Those shoppers who wish to book in-store may contact any of the nearest Lulu Hypermarket Customer service counters.
Advance in-store/online booking facility will be available until February 2, 2023, at 7 pm. The visit of the celebrity chef is aligned with the ongoing India Utsav 2023 celebrations being hosted by the Lulu Group in the region.
The India Utsav festival was inaugurated last week by the Ambassador of India to Qatar HE Dr. Deepak Mittal, at Lulu Hypermarket, Barwa Family Housing, Madinatna on the sidelines of the Republic Day of India celebrations held in the region and worldwide, and the festival will run until February 5, 2023.
Mohanan Namboothiri is hailing from the Kottayam district of Kerala and is academically qualified with a master’s degree in physics. Despite his high credentials, during the crossroads of life, he opted to become a fervent follower of the great Malamel Neelakandan Namboothiri who used to cook at youth festivals in Kerala.
After the turn of Neelakandan Namboothiri, Pazhayidom was entrusted to continue with his mission, and since then he has been managing the massive kitchen in all major events happening in Kerala and abroad namely school kalolsavam, arts festivals, sports meets, and science fairs, temple festivals and Malayalidiaspora, etc.
