Doha

As part of its continuing policy to prioritise the importance of STEAM Education, specifically in lower years, ACS International School Doha recently hosted a Texas A&M Science and Engineering roadshow with grades II to V to excite the students about science.

It was one of the school’s several events and partnerships throughout the year designed to encourage both students and their parents to participate and learn about the various fields.

The roadshow was designed to excite students about science, and to have several STEAM nights open to students and parents to actively participate in experiments and activities to develop their fascination with the field, as well as create an active learning community.

“STEAM education is crucial for our lower school students because it not only teaches them the skills they need for the future, but it also helps them think creatively and critically, and encourages them to be curious about the world around them. It gives them the tools to be problem-solvers and innovators, and helps them see the connections between science, technology, engineering, art, and math in the real world.” Lisa Weatherhead PYP Digital Learning/STEM Coach PYP Science Focus Lead.

Research has shown that students who receive a strong STEAM education have better academic outcomes, positive attitudes towards science and math, and are more likely to pursue careers in these fields.
