A parade by "Officers of Tomorrow” added to the sense of occasion during the graduation ceremony of the fifth batch of the Police Academy.

Held after the COVID-induced hiatus, the parade by the "Officers of Tomorrow” was performed by 88 cadets out of 150 boys selected from a group of 2,000 aspirants.

The 150 outstanding students underwent training for six months, said the Director of the Police Academy, Lieutenant-Colonel Fahad Saeed Al Subaie.

He said the presentations made by these students reflected the nature of the training received by the participants over the past months.

Since its establishment, the Police Academy has pursued a unique path in the field of training, inspired by the best international experiences in the design and implementation of training programmes for military colleges with innovative systems, besides focusing on optimal elements in the fields of military and sports training from officers and trainers to supervise the application of these advanced curricula.

This has been reflected on the performance of Academy candidates in the implementation of all training plans and programs. The Academy cooperates with its counterparts inside the country, from universities such as Qatar University, Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College, and Community College.

With each batch and before entering the military field and joining the Academy, the preparation and equipping stage begins with fitness exercise and sports classes aimed at preparing the participants physically. From the enrolment point at the Academy, the candidate student is subject to a systematic and comprehensive plan aimed at transforming him from civilian life to military life through a system based on self-reliance in all personal matters.

An Amiri decision was issued to establish and organise the Police Academy with the mission of preparing and qualifying national security cadres, in accordance with optimal academic and research standards, to provide the needs of the Ministry of Interior and other security institutions in the country, and to develop an environment stimulating creativity and innovation. Its establishment comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in modernising its educational, training and research system.
