Olive International School celebrated its 9th Annual Day, ‘Olivenite 2022-23’, with much fervour and enthusiasm. The event was graced by the Ambassador of India to Qatar HE Dr Deepak Mittal and his wife, Dr Alpna Mittal.

Saleh Abdullah M S Sulaiti, school patron; Hamad Al Ghali, director of the Private School Licencing Department; Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Thani, director of Umm Salal Ali municipality; Layla Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Ministry of Education consultant; Sameera Alyafei, education consultant for private education; Devis Edakuluthur, school chairman; and members of the school’s board of directors were some of the dignitaries present at the function.

The event started with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries followed by a splendid dance performance by the students of Grade VII. The guests were formally welcomed by Shalini Rawat, vice principal, operations. The annual report marking the achievements of the students for the session 2021-2022 was read by the Jacob Mathew, principal. A prize distribution ceremony wherein the CBSE board toppers were honoured was also held. Teachers with 100 percent attendance and those who served five years in Olive International School were honoured with 8 gram gold souvenirs to acknowledge their committed service to the institution.

His Excellency Dr Deepak Mittalcongratulated the school and the staff for the excellent show. In his address he motivated the students to bring pride to their parents, school and country by putting in their best efforts in their journey of learning. He also congratulated OIS for being the first Indian school to take initiatives to spread awareness about the International Year of Millets. Devis Edukulathur, chairman, complemented the OIS fraternity for their efforts. Other eminent dignitaries also addressed the august gathering of parents and students.

Dance and drama performances by Kharatiyat and Umm Salal Campus added colour to the event. The celebrations ended with a token of gratitude proposed by Umm Salal Ali campus headmistress.
