On directives of His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), in cooperation with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Qatar Charity, has sent urgent aid to earthquake-affected people in Turkey and Syria, through a Qatar Emiri Air Force air bridge.
This comes in line with the Amir’s order to launch an airlift aid campaign, providing all necessary support to mitigate the effects of the earthquake.
In a statement, QRCS said that the emergency relief shipment contains 35 tonnes of aid items, including heavy blankets, light blankets, jerrycans, mosquito nets, tarpaulins, shelter maintenance kits, and family hygiene kits.
