The Headmaster of King’s College UK and the Principal of King’s College Doha hosted an evening announcing the inaugural launch of A-Levels in August 2023 and the re-development of King’s existing campus in Al Thumama, into the region’s only dedicated Pre-Prep campus for children aged 3–7 years.
Attendees included parents from King’s College Doha alongside other dignitaries from the Qatar British Business Forum, the British Council, and several prominent corporate and guests.
The event formed part of a wider four-day visit to Qatar to demonstrate the close ties between the schools. Justin Chippendale, the Headmaster from King’s College UK, and Jonty Lawford, the Deputy Head of Academics, spent time
meeting academia, students and parents from King’s College Doha.
The event was organised recently at the Hotel Marriott Marquis, West Bay, Doha
The trip of the visiting educators culminated in an event for parents and school stakeholders, hosted by Headmaster Justin Chippendale and Mike Seaton, the Principal of King’s College Doha, where they laid out their vision for King’s College Doha: “To be the Best British School in the Middle East”.
Attendees were treated to several fantastic pupil-led performances from the Pre-Prep choir, the school orchestra, and a piano recital from the first, newly enrolled, A-Level Scholar into King’s College Doha, Miss Mia Park.
Mike Seaton commented, “To lead King’s College Doha, one of the most prestigious schools in the Middle East, and to welcome so many of our parent community to an event such as this is a true privilege”.
He added: “I am looking forward to leading King’s College Doha through its expansion to a second campus and welcoming new pupils who will benefit from 140 years of educational excellence, culminating in access to the world’s best universities”.
The event was used to announce several other exciting initiatives, including the King’s Identity, the King’s Learning Tapestry and the King’s Pathway.
