Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu officially inaugurated the first Turkish Hospital in Qatar on Wednesday.
Situated on the C-Ring Road, the 100-bed state-of-the-art hospital is a joint venture between Taleb group of Qatar and Ruzgar group of Turkey.
The 100-bed hospital consists of five Operation Theatres (OT) and 14 beds with Intensive Care Units (ICUs).
It has facilities for angiography, radiology, laboratories and diagnostic services.
The hospital is equipped to handle any kind of emergency and trauma cases.
Hailing the strong ties between Qatar and Turkey, Cavusoglu said the opening of the hospital was a true reflection of brotherly relations between the two countries.
Dr Volkan Uygunucarlar, Managing Partner-CEO of the hospital, said the health facility has started in-patient services from Wednesday. Its out-patent service had already started after a soft opening about a month ago.
"We are in a process of streamlining our procedures and forming tie-ups with different insurance companies so as to make our services smooth and hassle-free," said Dr Uygunucarlar.
"I am extremely happy to see the hi-tech facilities that this hospital will deliver as well as glad to meet the efficient and well-trained staff that will be at disposal of our Qatari brothers and sisters," the Turkish minister said.
