Lesha Bank recently organised a blood donation drive in association with the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
The event, which was held at the Bank’s headquarters at the Tornado Tower during the month of January, was part of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the scope of its community engagement efforts.
The event saw wide participation from Lesha Bank’s staff across all departments and from other companies located in the same building that hosts the HQ of the bank.
Conducted for the second year, Lesha Bank organized this blood drive, to help in replenishing much needed blood supplies for HMC blood bank, especially after the blood bank issued repeated urgent calls for donation to bolster its rapidly depleting reserves.
Commenting on the initiative Mohammed Mohammed – Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) at Lesha Bank said, “We are delighted to witness the success of our effort to organize a blood donation campaign in support of HMC. It is our duty to fulfill our part as a responsible corporate citizen, and to contribute as much as we can to shore up the country’s efforts in improving public health and saving lives. The event had an excellent turnout, and I would also like to extend my gratitude to HMC, all the stakeholders, Tornado Tower management, blood donors from other companies and everyone who donated or helped in spreading the word.”
Lesha Bank plans to hold the blood donation drive on an annual basis, to support HMC and their commitment to a robust CSR strategy.
Lesha Bank is the first independent Shari’a-compliant Bank authorized by the QFC Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) and a listed entity on the Qatar Stock Exchange.
