Ras Laffan Community Outreach Program (COP) has sponsored Al Tawasol Park, a public garden and park for the northern communities at Al Khor in cooperation with Al Khor Municipality.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Al Khor Municipality representatives Rashed Jassim al Muraikhi, Hamad Ali al Muraikhi and Mohammed Misfer al Shahwani, and COP representatives Ali al Mohannadi and Sheikh Abdullah al Thani, as well as Saad al Hamidi and Hussein al Shammari.
Rashed Muraikhi said,"The park, which is located in the Southern Entrance of Al Khor city, will be called 'Coastal Hill'. It is on a plot of a total of 7,000 square metres with aesthetic sight of the city. The park will also increase the green areas in Qatar."
Mohannadi, chief engineering and project officer at ORYX GTL, said:"COP always aims to build communication bridges with the local community, based on trust and cooperation among the industrial companies at Ras Laffan city and the local community."
The park will also help COP in its effort to support the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the sustainable development for social, humanitarian and environmental levels.
Ras Laffan Industrial City Community Outreach Programme is a consortium that includes Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Shell, RasGas, Dolphin Energy Limited, Pearl and ORYX GTL.
ORYX GTL has taken the opportunity to manage the project on behalf of COP members.
