Tribune News NetworkDoha Following all the norms of social distancing, DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) recently celebrated the 8th International Day of Yoga with a special event organised for parents and teachers of DPS Modern Indian School. The event was in tune with this year’s theme ‘Yoga For Humanity’ and focused on educating parents and teachers about the benefits of yoga in enhancing physical and mental health in this tough phase. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation of teachers and parents.The PE teachers demonstrated the asanas, suggested in the Common Yoga Protocol by the Government of India, and the attendees performed the activities following the instructions. Hoardings and notice boards were on display to highlight the importance of yoga and to educate people about the role of yoga in maintaining a perfect equilibrium between the body and mind.The session continued for about 40 minutes and consisted of Asana, Pranayama, Shat Karma and Yoga Nidra. A total of 200 parents and teachers participated in the session, making it a successful and enriching event.
