Qatar Charity (QC), through its global ‘Rofaqa’ initiative for orphans and underprivileged children care, seeks to sponsor the largest possible number of orphans who are still on waiting lists, hoping to bring the number of the sponsored to 200,000 before the blessed month of Ramadan, urging philanthropists to support the programme.
This is to promote social solidarity and serve humanity with the support from benefactors in Qatar.Qatar Charity, through this initiative, is keen to provide comprehensive care to sponsored persons, who are now more than 194,000, by providing various services and implementing projects to meet their needs and provide them with social protection.
Yousef Al Khulaifi, general supervisor of the ‘Rofaqa’ initiative, said the initiative has achieved great success during the past period and contributed to realising the aspirations and dreams of many children.
He added that the initiative was the reason behind creating success stories by the sponsored orphans after they made outstanding academic and career performance.
Khulaifi urged the benefactors to continue to support the ‘Rofaqa’ initiative, as there are more than 17,700 social cases eligible for sponsorship, noting that the cases have been studied and are now on waiting list to be sponsored by the benefactors.
He hoped that the number of those sponsored through the ‘Rofaqa’ initiative will reach 200,000 before the month of Ramadan.
He noted that the successive disasters and crises globally, including the Turkey-Syria earthquake, cause an increase in the number of those in need of sponsorship.
He stated that the sponsorship process can easily be carried out through the ‘Rofaqa’ website (www.Rofaqa.com) or through Qatar Charity app in less than a minute.
In addition to orphans and poor families, students, people with disability and teachers can also be sponsored under the ‘Rofaqa’ initiative.
Qatar Charity, as part of this initiative, designs and implements qualitative projects for the sponsored, like model cities and centres that has schools, health units, apartments, student housing, playgrounds and water facilities.
By the end of 2022, some 303 qualitative and service centres were built for orphans, children and their families.
The ‘Rofaqa’ initiative also pays more attention to programmes, projects and activities implemented for orphans and the sponsored. It also attaches significant attention to the social care, health care, psychological support and social housing projects.
Nearly 13,250 people benefited from these projects during 2022.
