His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday issued Amiri Order No (2) of 2023, appointing HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani as Prime Minister.
The Amiri Order is effective starting from its date of issue, and is to be published in the Official Gazette.
Before HH the Amir, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani took the oath as Prime Minister at the Amiri Diwan.
The oath taking ceremony was attended by HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani.
In a tweet, Sheikh Mohammed said, “Today, I was honoured by the trust bestowed upon me by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the country, “May Allah protect him”, by assigning me as Prime Minister. I ask Allah the Almighty for success, and I look forward to working with my fellow ministers in serving our country and contributing to its advancement under the wise leadership of His Highness.”
HH the Amir also issued Amiri Order No 3 of 2023, reshuffling the Cabinet. Before HH the Amir, the ministers appointed by Amiri Order No (3) of 2023, took the oath.
HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani took oath as Minister of Interior.
Earlier, HH the Amir issued Tuesday the Amiri Order No 1 of 2023 accepting the resignation of Prime Minister HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
