The Qatari basketball team recorded a convincing victory over rivals Bahrain at the 5th GCC Women’s Games at the women’s indoor hall at Aspire Dome on Thursday.
The hosts ended their campaign on a high note beating Bahrain 67–50 to claim the title having raised their points tally to six to claim the top place ahead of runners-up Bahrain.
The match was attended by HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al Thani, the Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
In a post–event release, Lulua al Marri, the Chairperson of Qatar Women’s Sport Committee (QWSC) hailed the basketball team’s achievement and wished better results for the remaining teams, according to the Qatar Olympic Committee website.
