Zakat Fund Department at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has announced that it has provided aid worth QR16,814,589 during February 2023, benefiting 660 families who are eligible for assistance within Qatar.
It included periodic and lump-sum aid -- all of these are aids that the Zakat Department disburses to the eligible registered families, in accordance with the legal controls and approved mechanisms.
These amounts were distributed among the periodic aids that are provided on a monthly basis to eligible families with a value of QR9,442,840, and lump-sum aids, which are one-time aids as needed, with a value of QR7,371,749.
Zakat Department said that it provides the service of calculating corporate zakat free of charge to facilitate performing zakat for owners of companies. They can also send the company’s financial budget to the departments e-mail.
The department’s specialists study the budget and determine the value of zakat due on the company. Individuals and companies can also pay their due zakat through the Zakat Departments website or through collection offices and points across the country.
