The Hamilton International School, part of International Schools Partnership (ISP), has been named a new IELTS testing centre in Doha by the British Council. Students from The Hamilton International School will have access to free IELTS practice materials, mock tests and will be able to sit the official test on the school campus.
“We are so happy to have partnered with the British Council and are thrilled to offer IELTS, one of the world’s most reputable English language tests. At The Hamilton International School, we want to equip our students with all the required tools they need to reach their university of choice. This partnership provides one of those tools,” said Terry Senior, principal of The Hamilton International School.
Along with computer-delivered and paper-based testing, the agreement will also provide The Hamilton International School with IELTS Mock Tests with answer keys, over thirty hours of free online practice resources, IELTS orientation workshops, and IELTS Teachers Training to staff at the school.
Deep Adhikari, director of Exams, UAE, Oman & Qatar, British Council, said, “We are delighted to welcome The Hamilton International School as a new IELTS testing venue in Doha. This partnership will provide students with a convenient and accessible way to take the IELTS test, a trusted and internationally recognised English language proficiency test that opens doors to academic and professional opportunities around the world. We look forward to working with The Hamilton International School to support their students’ success.” The IELTS on computer test offers more availability of test dates and results that can be received in 3 to 5 calendar days after the test has been complete. The test content, timing and structure remain the same in both options and, importantly, the Speaking test remains face-to-face with a certified IELTS Examiner.
For those planning to apply to University, IELTS is considered the preferred test of English for academic study, recognised and accepted by 11,000 institutions around the world. It has a high in-country recognition for domestic studies too.
IELTS taken on a computer is also gaining popularity among working professionals who are planning to migrate to destinations such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Apart from the familiarity of using computers daily, the option to choose a slot for speaking interviews at the time of registration makes it easier for test takers to plan their test day, especially for working professionals with busy schedules.
Whether taking IELTS on paper or on computer, candidates can be confident that they are taking the same trusted English language test. IELTS is the only English language test that is accepted by all the key immigration authorities in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK for visa applications and migration purposes.
